Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Subjects were enrolled in this study in accordance with the following criteria: (1) apparently sedentary in accordance with a sedentary lifestyle (spending more than 8 h per day awake in a sitting position and sitting still for more than 90 min continuously); (2) age between 18 and 25 years; (3) BMI = 25; (4) has not exercised for less than 30 min on a regular basis for 3–5 months; and (5) IPAQ < 600 metabolic equivalents min/week.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria included the following: (1) severe cardiovascular or musculoskeletal disorders, (2) severe diabetes mellitus, (3) psychiatric disorders, and (4) other contraindications to exercise.
