Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children with ASA physical status I-III scheduled for elective surgery in supine position under general anesthesia are included in this study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: We exclude participants if they meet any of the following criteria: (i) chest circumference < 36cm; (ii) untreated congenital heart disease; (iii) respiratory disease, such as atelectasis, pneumothorax, pleural effusion, or pneumonia found by preoperative chest X-ray; and (iv) history of thoracic surgery.
