Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Age 65 or older than 85; 2. Asa Class III-IV;. 3.Planning major abdominal surgery 4. The estimated operative time was > 2 hours; 5. The participants agreed to participate in the study and signed the informed consent form.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Refusal to participate in the study, 2. emergency surgery, 3. preoperative delirium, 4. previous schizophrenia, epilepsy, Parkinson, myasthenia gravis, 5. continuous benzodiazepine use for more than a week, 6. severe liver damage (child-Pugh class C) , severe renal damage (requiring renal replacement therapy) 7. severe preoperative coma, dementia, or inability to communicate
