Interventions

the experimental group (exercise, ACE II, ID, DD genotypes) :Experimental group participants engage in water-based exercise three times a week for 12 weeks.
the control group (no exercise):Control group participants do not engage in water-based exercise during the experiment and continue their normal activities.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: According to previous studies, the proportion of individuals with the ACE DD genotype is approximately 11%. Therefore, in the first phase of this study, we plan to recruit 100-200 postmenopausal women aged 45-75 from the Nanjing area for ACE testing. This is to ensure an adequate sample size of ACE II, ID, and DD genotypes for the second phase exercise trials. At least 20 participants with the ACE DD genotype and 20 participants without the ACE DD genotype (II and ID genotypes), as well as 40 control group participants, will actually take part in the second phase exercise trials. The subjects will primarily be individuals without skeletal, joint, or cognitive diseases, and without uncontrolled hypertension or metabolic diseases.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Recent use of ACE inhibitor medications, hospitalization within the past three months, cardiovascular diseases, uncontrolled hypertension and metabolic disorders, neuromuscular or respiratory diseases, skin diseases, mobility impairments, fear of water, and cognitive disorders.
