Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Herniation

Interventions

Conventional technique group:(1) Rolling and palm kneading at lumbosacral region for 10 minutes
(2) Pressing around the tender points beside the spinous processes of L4 and L5 for 5 times
Press and pluck the soft tissues around the end of L3 transverse prcesses for 5 times
(3) Lumbar rotating manipulation with the affected side upward
(4) Press acupoints GB29, BL40, BL39 on the affected side 3 times each, based on the patients tolerance.
Conventional techniques plus foot three yin myofascial meridians plucking group:(1)Conventional techniques for lumbar intervertebral disc herniation
(2)Plucking iliopsoas muscle (psoas major and iliopsoas muscles) and adductor femoris muscle group

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Meets the diagnostic criteria for lumbar intervertebral disc herniation, affected segment is L4/5 or L5/S1; (2) 3=VAS=6; (3) Age range: 18-60 years old; (4) Those who are willing to accept the treatment method of this study and sign an informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Pregnant or lactating women, and others who are not suitable for X-ray imaging examination; (2) Patients with a history of lumbar trauma or surgery; Patients with lumbar tumors, spondylolisthesis, fractures, or lumbosacral transitional vertebrae; (3) Patients with combined lumbar spinal stenosis or lower limb musculoskeletal disorders such as hip, knee, ankle, and foot; (4) Patients with generalized myofascial pain such as fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome; (5) Patients with severe primary diseases such as cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, hepatic, renal, and hematopoietic systems, as well as psychiatric disorders. (6) Individuals with a BMI index greater than 25.
