Intervention group:In addition to standard treatment, children in the intervention group received four sessions of sandplay therapy, once a week for 1 h/session. According to the treatment cycle of th

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria comprised children who: (a) had a diagnosis of CNS tumors, (b) were aged between 6 and 14 years, (c) demonstrated an understanding of the research procedures and possessed the ability to read and communicate in Chinese, and (d) provided informed consent to partake in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria encompassed children who: (a) were afflicted with critical illness or cognitive impairments hindering their participation in the intervention, or (b) had been diagnosed with a mental disorder (such as depression, bipolar disorder, etc.), or (c) declined to participate in the study.
