Spinal cord injury

Interventions

Maximum isometric training group:With stabilizer, subjects are subjected to isometric contractions with maximum force. Subjects are seated, hip flexion is 80 to 85 degrees, and knee bend is 90 degrees
Progressive isotonic training group:Progressive isotonic resistance training in the same position as the maximum isometric contraction group, 10 reps/sets, 2 minutes of rest between groups, 3 sets/day

18 Years to 70 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Over 18 years old with no progressive diseases; 2. non-acute SCI patients (met with the 2019 International Neurological Classification of Spinal Cord Injury (51); 3. bilateral knee extensors strength were grade 3 or 4; 4. targeted muscles had stable innervation (muscle strength had not increased by more than 2 grades in the past three weeks).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Any obstacles to test or train targeted muscles (inability to change posture, insufficient range of knee extension or lower-extremity muscular tension was rated above level 2 by the Modified Ashworth Scale); 2. inability to cooperate or tolerate training (severe cardiopulmonary dysfunction, cognitive impairment and unable to communicate); 3. smoking, concurrent systemic disease, metabolic disorders, cancers and other neurological diseases.
