Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: NAFL is defined as early simple steatosis (nonalcoholic fatty liver, NAFL, with >5% triglycerides in hepatocytes) in the absence of excessive alcohol consumption (<30 grams per day in men and <20 grams per day in women), other diseases affecting liver function such as viral infections, and pregnancy. In the absence of excessive alcohol consumption, other diseases affecting liver function such as viral infections, and pregnancy, the more advanced form is non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), which is mainly characterized by inflammation, swelling of hepatocytes (ballooning) with varying degrees of fibrosis in addition to lipids.
Exclusion criteria
