Muscle damage and oxidative stress

Interventions

Blueberry Polyphenol Group:4.7 g of blueberry polyphenols (polyphenols 1212.13 mg, anthocyanins 296.1 mg) per day was taken with warm water 2 h before exercise on training days, and supplemented on no
placebo group:4.7 g of sorbitol + ß-cyclodextrin per day was taken with warm water 2 h before exercise on training days and supplemented on non-training days using the same timing as on training days

45 Years to 65 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Aged 45-65 years old; 2.Have more than five years of experience in marathon exercise prior to this study and have a regular running exercise frequency of at least 3 times per week; 3.Not taking any other cardiovascular disease-related medication or antioxidant in the three months prior to this study; 4. BMI of 18.5~23.9kg/m2.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Having a clear contraindication to exercise or other medical condition that interferes with the exercise program; 2. Consumption of medications or supplements that may affect the experimental protocol; 3. Participation in a half marathon during the experiment.
