Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1)Parturients undergoing natural childbirth with preplaced epidural catheters will be included. Anesthesia analgesics will be administered when the parturients feel intolerable pain. (2)Pregnancy between 35 to 41 weeks gestation. (3)Language use will include Mandarin and Taiwanese dialect. (4)Legal age requirement is 18 years or above. (5)Anesthesia risk assessment (ASA) grade I or II. (6)Body mass index (BMI) ranging from 14.35 to 40.15 km/m2: Since there are no specific BMI ranges for parturients, the BMI range of parturients receiving epidural analgesia in a certain hospital in Changhua throughout the entire year of 2022, excluding outliers, will be statistically calculated and used as the BMI range for this study.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1)Contraindications to pain-relieving childbirth methods include conditions such as increased intracranial pressure, platelet count less than 100,000, and presence of infection at the skin puncture site. (2)Individuals with mental abnormalities. (3)Substance abusers. (4)Parturients undergoing natural childbirth who directly use anesthesia analgesics after the placement of an epidural catheter. (5)Cesarean section patients. (6)Cases where anesthesia analgesics are used within 30 minutes of starting administration after enrollment.
