Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Plan to perform a low anterior resection of the rectum; 2.Preoperative diagnosis of middle and lower rectal adenocarcinoma (measured by pelvic MRI, tumor edge distance from the anal margin =10cm); 3.Preoperative staging cT1-T3 N0-1, or post neoadjuvant therapy ycT1-T3 Nx, no distant metastasis M0; 4.American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA score) =3; 5.Age 18-75 years old; 6.Preoperative patients have good cardiopulmonary, liver, and kidney function, can tolerate robot-assisted or laparoscopic, open surgery; 7.Patients are covered by urban employee medical insurance or urban and rural resident medical insurance; 8.Patients sign an informed consent form to participate, patients or their family can use a cellphone independently, and can cooperate to complete the research's required observation and follow-up surveys.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Rectal lesions are benign or non-adenocarcinoma; 2.Patients assessed as ineligible for radical surgery to remove rectal cancer lesions or requiring combined organ resection; 3.Patients with multifocal colorectal cancer, familial adenomatous polyposis, or inflammatory bowel disease; 4.Patients with malignant tumors in other systems within the past 5 years or conditions deemed unsuitable for research by the researchers; 5.Patients with a history of pelvic surgery that researchers believe could impact surgical procedures; 6.Presence of distant organ tissue metastasis (M1); 7.Planned lateral lymph node dissection or non-one-stage sphincter-preserving surgery (such as abdominoperineal resection Miles procedure, rectal resection + proximal colostomy Hartmann procedure); planned total mesorectal excision surgery (TaTME) or natural orifice specimen extraction surgery (NOSES).
