Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) patients with a diagnosis of stage 1, 2, 3, 4, unstageable, and deep tissue injury according to the grading criteria proposed by the NPIAP 2016 International Consensus Conference; and (2) informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) the presence of skin conditions that interfere with ultrasonography (e.g., the presence of scar tissue at the site of the PI, etc.); (2) those who are extremely critically ill and unable to cooperate with the examination to complete the ultrasonography; (3) patients with suspected or diagnosed contagious skin diseases; (4) patients who voluntarily request to be withdrawn from the study; and (5) those who have a chronic skin lesion that interferes with the diagnosis of stress injuries.
