Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Within 3 years of the time of diagnosis of diabetes and the most applied monotherapy for diabetes mellitus; (2) Age > 65 years; age 65-80 years; (3) Stratified according to the "Chinese Guidelines for Diabetes in the Elderly (2021 edition)", patients with results of "group 1" and "group 2" (i.e., health grades of "good" and "moderate"); (4) Patients with diabetes in the designated hospitals who agree to participate in the clinical trial and are able to follow up in a timely manner; (5) Have the results of glycated haemoglobin, pancreatic islet function and blood biochemistry tests within three months at the time of enrolment; (6) Signed the informed consent form and volunteered to undergo the trial.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Diagnosis of diabetes mellitus for more than 3 years or concurrent use of more than 1 hypoglycaemic drug; (2) Patients stratified according to the "China Diabetes Guidelines for the Elderly (2021 Edition)", and the result is "group 3" (i.e., the health grade is "poor"); (3) Combined serious cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases; (4) Critically ill patients; (5) Patients with chronic kidney disease; (6) Patients with mental illnesses, etc., who cannot sign informed consent; (7) Those who refused to participate in the survey follow-up.
