Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age 18–65 years; BMI > 35 kg·m^-2. 2. Intended elective laparoscopic weight-loss (gastric restriction/reduction) surgery. 3. Signed informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Recent respiratory tract infection with imaging suggesting pneumonia; presence of significant pleural effusion. 2. Diseases/conditions that may significantly alter chest wall or lung mechanics (such as COPD, ARDS, severe thoracic deformity, previous thoracic surgery, severe neuromuscular diseases, etc.). 3. Other situations deemed unsuitable for enrollment by the investigator.
