Interventions

Group 1:Before anesthesia induction, patients in group 1 received intravenous 4-ml normal saline.
Group 2:Before anesthesia induction, patients in group 2 received intravenous 4-mg dexamethasone (4mg with 4ml saline).
Group 3:Before anesthesia induction, patients in group 3 received 8-mg dexamethasone (8mg with 4ml saline).

18 Years to 60 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: patients aged 18-60 years, BMI 18-30 kg/m^2, ASA I or II, with ability to communicate effectly, Informed consent, who will be scheduled for endoscopic thyroid surgery , entered this study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Allergy or contraindications to dexamethasone 2. Diabetes 3. Hyperthyroidism 4. Pancreatic disease 5. Lactating and pregnant female patients 6. IV or oral steroid therapy within 30 days 7. Conversion to open surgery 8. Surgery lasting >4hours 9. Patients who received glucose therapy within 12 hours before surgery 10. Patients with severe liver and kidney diseases 11. Catecholamines are used during the operation
