18 Years to 80 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age >18 years; 2. Cough is the main symptom and lasts for more than 8 weeks; 3. No obvious abnormality on chest radiographs or chest CT; 4. Voluntarily undergo cough provocation and suppression tests with capsaicin inhalation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. pregnant or breastfeeding patients; 2. current smokers or smokers in the past two years; 3. history of acute upper respiratory tract infection within 8 weeks; 4. mental and cognitive dysfunction, hearing and communication disorders; 5. treatment for the etiology of chronic cough prior to the study with significant improvement; 6. other conditions that, in the opinion of the investigators, make the patient unsuitable for entry into the study.
