Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Study participants must be at least 15--18 years of age Subjects must be in a psychological state of low self-esteem or suffer from mild or moderate depression, i.e., a score of 20 or less on the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) or a score of 5 to 20 on the Patient Depression Self-Rating Scale (PHQ--9). Participants need to be fluent in Chinese, have no severe learning difficulties (this criterion will be based on teacher reports), and the student will be able to attend the scheduled one-day workshop.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) Exclusion of individuals with severe mental illness (e.g., students with major depressive disorder, mania, schizophrenia, dissociative disorders that may pose a risk of harm to other students) 2) Individuals with severe visual impairments, such as loss of vision; 3) Individuals with a history of substance causation and drug use within a six-month period; 4) Individuals with a current serious mental illness (e.g., depression, schizophrenia, mania, dissociative and somatization form disorders, etc.) and lack of clinical self-awareness; 4) Individuals with other serious physical illnesses that make it inconvenient to visit the lab; 5) Individuals who have smoked regularly (=1 cigarette/day) in the last month 6) Individuals who are unable to attend the workshop 7) Participants who are unable to complete the baseline self-assessment questionnaire Participants judged to be at serious risk (i.e., in need of immediate mental health care) after assessment will be excluded. All participants gave written informed consent, which required parental consent.
