Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ? Age =65 years old, both sexes; ? patients scheduled for elective spinal surgery; ? BMI 18 <BMI <30; ?ASA grade I-III.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: ? preoperative comorbid epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, schizophrenia and other neurological or psychiatric diseases; ? Severe hearing or visual impairment; ? preoperative mini-mental State examination (MMSE) score < 24; ? recent use of cholinergic or anticholinergic drugs; ? body mass index =30; ? Skin infection, damage, or scar on the ear.
