Age

18 Years to 99 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) age=18; (2) unplanned admission; (3) typical symptoms or signs of acute heart failure; and (4) brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) levels > 100 pg/mL or N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) levels > 300 pg/mL.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) hospitalization< 24 h; (2) ongoing renal replacement therapy; (3) massive stroke; (4) concomitant terminal disease.
