Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) diagnosed with knee OA according to the American College of Rheumatology clinical criteria. (2) were eligible if they were 40 to 70 years old; (3) had radiologic confirmation of osteoarthritis (Kellgren-Lawrence score II or III) (4) had a score of 4 or greater on at least 1 of the 5 questions in WOMAC pain subscale (range of 0 to 10, with higher scores indicating greater pain) at baseline (5) were ability to walk and ascend and descend stairs without aids and/or assistance.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) with current serious medical conditions, such as dementia, symptomatic heart or vascular disease, or recent stroke, that would limit full participation. (2) had knee pain caused by other diseases; (3) with intra-articular steroid injections in the previous 3 months, or reconstructive surgery on the affected knee and any intra-articular hyaluronate injections in the previous 6 months; (4) BMI=35 kg/m^2
