Subclincial Depression

Interventions

Group Music Therapy- Intervention Group:Participants will receive an 8-week group music intervention, followed by eight weeks of self-monitoring.
Group Music Therapy- Waitlist Group :Participants will wait for eight weeks before receiving the same 8-week group music intervention as the intervention group.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Age 18-35 years old; 2) BMI:18-30kg/m^2; 3) Strong willingness to participate in this study; 4) Subclinical depression as assessed by a combination of the Hamilton Clinical Interview and the Depression Self-Rating Scales (with 2 or more depressive symptoms but fewer than 5 of the DSM diagnostic criteria for depression, with a duration of at least two weeks, with impaired social functioning but not meeting the diagnostic criteria for mild depression, major depression, or dysphoric mood disorder); scores of 9-20 on the PHQ-9 Scale; BDI scores >=8; HAMD scores 7-17; 5) Normal vision and hearing (or normal after corrected), being able to understand the instructions and the contents of the research; 6) Suitable for MRI examination: (1) No metal or electronic implants in the body (such as metal cochlear implants or pacemakers); (2) No prosthesis (such as dentures, metal braces, etc.); (3) No hair dying or tattooing; (4) No claustrophobia; (5) No severe spondylosis; (6) No traumatic brain injury.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Patients diagnosed with major depressive disorder (particularly those who are receiving antidepressants), schizoaffective disorder, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, mental retardation, pervasive developmental disorder, delirium, dementia, memory impairment, or other cognitive disorders consistent with the diagnostic manifestations of DSM-5; 2) Individuals who showed dangerous suicidal ideation or suicide attempt behavior during the clinical interview; 3) CIn the process of a severe stressful event; 4) Have a history of addictions (including substance use disorders, internet addiction etcs.)u r
