Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) Age = 60. (2) Patients able to report their ability to self-care two weeks before ICU admission, and with a Barthel Index (BI) score > 70. (3) Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II (APACHE II) = 15. (4) Prior to the onset of the disease, the patient was lucid and had no history of mental illness, impairment of comprehension, orientation, cognition or hearing. (5) Patients with a cardiac function class of IV or lower. (6) No history of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or varicose veins in the lower limbs. DVT was excluded by ultrasound of both lower limbs.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) Limb Activity Disorder. (2) Diseases that are irreversible and carry a high risk of death, such as cardiac arrest and multiple organ failure. (3) Receiving palliative treatment. (4) Diagnosed with neuromuscular disorders. (5) Acute neurological injury such as severe traumatic brain injury.
