Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients must meet the criteria of ( ? + ? + ? and/or ? ) at the same time: ? Patients who are admitted to the ICU and are =18 years of age, regardless of gender; ? Expected enteral nutrition support time =48h; ? Gastric tube feeding intolerance which cannot be resolved by prokinetic medication; ? Patients at high risk of aspiration or already experienced from reflux/aspiration in the current hospitalization. Patients at increased risk for aspiration may be identified as Patients inability to protect the airway, mechanical ventilation, age >70 years, reduced level of consciousness, poor oral care, inadequate nurse: patient ratio, supine positioning, neurologic deficits, gastroesophageal reflux, transport out of the ICU, and use of bolus intermittent EN

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who meet any of the following criteria will not be enrolled in the study, including: ? Patients with contraindications for enteral nutrition, such as uncontrolled shock, uncontrolled hypoxia and acidosis, uncontrolled upper gastrointestinal bleeding, intestinal hypoxia, and intestinal obstruction; ?Patients with contraindications for NJ tube placement, such as nasal cavity obstruction, pharyngeal tumors, severe varicose veins, stenosis or obstruction of the esophagus, corrosive gastritis, pyloric obstruction, severe respiratory distress or cardiac failure, and acute coronary syndromes; ? Patients PLT <20×109/L who are at high risk of bleeding; ? patients with transperitoneal gastrostomy or gastrojejunostomy; ? patients with a history of metoclopramide allergy; ? pregnancy.
