Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Between May 22, 2023, and December 20, 2023, data from consecutive patients diagnosed with papillary thyroid carcinoma by fine needle aspiration and who underwent thyroidectomy for histologically confirmed PTC were prospectively collected at Zunyi First People's Hospital.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria were (1) age less than 18 and more than 60 years, (2) history of previous neck surgery or radiotherapy, (3) distant metastases or direct invasion of surrounding organs, and (4) poor general condition and inability to tolerate general anesthesia.
