60 Years to No maximum

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Age = 60 years old, male or female; 2) American classification of anesthesiologists (ASA) grades I-III; 3) Undergoing major non-cardiac surgery, with an estimated surgical time = 1.5 hours; 4) Estimated postoperative hospital stay = 2 days; 5) Having a clear understanding of the study, voluntarily participating, and providing a written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Emergency operation; 2) Sick sinus syndrome, heart rate (HR) <50 beats/min, second-degree or greater atrioventricular block without a pacemaker, cardiac insufficiency, liver or renal dysfunction; 3) Preoperative cognitive dysfunction (assessed by MMSE); 4) Schizophrenia, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, preoperative use of sedative or hypnotic drugs; 5) Inability to communicate effectively or refusal to participate in this study.
