Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: volunteers who underwent painless gastroscopy . They were aged 18 to 66 years old, and had American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) grades I and III.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Contraindications to standard endoscopic procedures or refusal of sedation/anesthesia. (2) ASA Grade V classification. (3) Unmanaged, life-threatening circulatory or respiratory conditions such as severe, uncontrolled hypertension, pronounced arrhythmias, unstable angina, acute respiratory infections, and asthma exacerbations. (4) Liver impairment (Child-Pugh Grade C and above), acute upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage accompanied by shock, profound anemia, or gastrointestinal blockage with retained gastric contents. (5) Absence of a companion or legal guardian. (6) Allergies to sedative/anesthetic medications or other significant anesthesia-related risks. (7) Individuals with evident airway challenges, including issues like mouth opening disorders, restricted neck and jaw movement, and severe obesity. (8) Grave neurological conditions, including stroke, hemiplegia, seizures, and epilepsy.
