Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1) Patients diagnosed with drug-resistant epilepsy requiring the implantation of deep brain electrodes for treatment; 2) At least one electrode contact of the implanted deep electrodes passes through the claustrum and successfully implements functional electrical stimulation; 3) Wechsler Intelligence Scale, memory score >60; 4) Possess normal communication skills; 5) Aged 18 to under 60 years old.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) Presence of significant malformations or abnormalities in brain structure; 2) Previous history of craniotomy or intracranial electrode implantation surgery; 3) Strong adverse reactions to functional electrical stimulation, such as palpitations, fear, and epileptic seizures; 4) Presence of other comorbidities, already having or requiring the implantation of cardiac pacemakers, defibrillators, and cochlear implants, etc.; 5) Presence of tumors, severe abnormalities in liver or kidney function (indicators exceeding normal values by threefold), and other serious health-affecting comorbid diseases.
