Test group wearing removable orthodontic appliances:Children wearing removable orthodontic appliances brush their teeth using a sonic toothbrush and toothpaste for 3 to 5 minutes

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria for children: ? children aged 3–12 years who visit the Zhujiang New Town Clinic, Hospital of Stomatology, Sun Yat-Sen University; ? with no serious systemic or psychiatric diseases, no long-term history of medications, no antibiotics taken within two weeks, no supragingival cleaning performed within one month, no congenital deformity of oral and maxillofacial development, no trauma or acute oral diseases; ? with informed consent signed by parents; ? children aged 3–5 can brush their teeth with the help of their parents, and children aged 6–12 can brush their teeth independently. Inclusion criteria for parents: ? those who can express their own opinions; ? informed consent has been signed. Inclusion criteria for dentists: all pediatric dentists and orthodontists in the Zhujiang New Town Clinic.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria for children: ?with serious systemic and psychiatric diseases, long-term drug use, oral and maxillofacial malformation, antibiotics taken within two weeks, supragingival cleaning within one month, trauma or acute oral diseases; ? unable to brush teeth autonomously; ? unable to express one's own opinions in qualitative research (quantitative research is not limited by this); ? without parental informed consent. Exclusion criteria for parents: ? unable to express one's own opinions; ? without informed consent. Exclusion criteria for dentists: without informed consent.
