Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Greater than 55 years of age, regardless of gender; patients with mild cognitive impairment confirmed by a neurologist using the MMSE/MoCA scale for diagnosis; olfactory function tests using the olfactory pen method, with scores lower than 10 being considered as olfactory impairment; and understanding of and voluntarily participating in this trial and signing an informed consent form.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Presence of intracranial infections, hydrocephalus, and cerebrovascular disease; exclusion of patients with mild cognitive impairment with any history of stroke, epilepsy, encephalitis, traumatic brain injury, malignancy, cardiac event, or serious mental illness; acute respiratory infections within 3 weeks or colds within 2 weeks; chronic rhinitis, sinusitis, and allergic rhinitis; prolonged or heavy exposure to volatile substances such as insecticides, herbicides, metal dusts, acid fumes, industrial solvents, cleaning products, or sawdust; smoking or drug use; patients with end-stage renal disease; other neuropsychiatric disorders affecting olfactory function, such as depression, anxiety, Parkinson's, and multiple sclerosis.
