Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: (1) all patients were diagnosed with squamous carcinoma of the lower and middle esophagus by preoperative gastroscopy and pathological examination; (2) UICC-AJCC 8th edition pathological staging of T1-T3; (3) all patients and their families were informed of the characteristics and costs of robotic surgical protocols and agreed to undergo the surgery prior to the operation; and (4) the clinical data were complete (surgical records, pathological data, and postoperative follow-up data were complete).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria: (1) patients who could not tolerate surgery due to advanced age, cardiopulmonary or hepatic or renal insufficiency; (2) preoperative radiotherapy or chemotherapy.
