isometric resistance training group:Wall squat for the lower limbs, and handgrip for the upper limbs.

60 Years to 95 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) the older adults (age=60 years); (2) Meeting the diagnostic criteria for essential hypertension; (3) Having independent mobility and able to perform resistance exercises independently; (4) Informed consent and voluntary participation in this study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Secondary hypertension, resting SBP =160mmHg and/or DBP =100mmHg; (2) Current use of medications other than antihypertensive drugs that affect blood pressure, such as glucocorticoids, sympathomimetics, etc.; (3) History of cardiac pacemaker implantation, severe arrhythmia, heart failure, or significant organ dysfunction; (4) Body mass index >30kg/m^2; (5) Crohn's disease; history of hip, pelvic, or femoral fracture; (6) History of bleeding disorders, glaucoma, deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism, smoking; (7) Major surgery within the past 6 months; (8) Participation in organized training programs within the past 6 months; (9) Cognitive impairment that prevents cooperation with researchers; (10) Sensory impairment.
