Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Male or female individuals aged 18-65 years old. 2.Meeting the diagnostic criteria for chronic insomnia according to ICSD-3. Severe insomnia is defined as a score >7 on the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) (indicating clinically significant insomnia). 3.Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II) scores ranging from 14 to 28. 4.Regular use of sedative-hypnotic drugs for at least 3 months prior to study entry or no use of such drugs. 5.Voluntary participation in this study and signing an informed consent form.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Received acupuncture treatment for insomnia in the past 3 months; 2.Unstable use of sedative-hypnotic drugs or antipsychotic drugs within the past month; 3.Diagnosed with severe depression, history of mental illness or organic mental disorders, or severe suicidal tendencies; 4.Sleep disorders due to physical illnesses such as nocturnal discomfort, pain, or breathing difficulties, or insomnia symptoms due to the use of psychoactive substances or drugs; 5.Sleep disorders caused by central nervous system diseases such as Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, or neurodegenerative diseases such as Louis body dementia; 6.Severe heart, liver, kidney dysfunction, or blood, respiratory system diseases, or infectious diseases such as liver disease, AIDS, and severe trauma that have not healed; 7.History of alcohol abuse or drug dependence; 8.Pregnant or lactating women; 9.Local skin or tissue infection at acupuncture points; 10.Fear of needles or needle phobia; 11.Participation in other research projects in the past 3 months.
