Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: ? 60-85 years old, male or female; ? Meet the diagnostic criteria of insomnia disorder according to DSM-V; ? Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) score > 7; ? Not taking any hypnotic medication within the past 2 weeks or having a stable dosage for the past 4 weeks; ? Agree with the treatment plan, cooperate with the investigation, and sign the informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: ? Use of antidepressant or antipsychotic medications in the last 4 weeks; ? Signs of dementia or other serious cognitive impairment (defined by a score of MMSE); ? Presence of a major depressive disorder, anxiety disorder or other severe mental disorder (identified by DSM-V); ? Presence of nervous system disease such as stroke, Parkinson's Disease, etc; ? Presence of a serious underlying diseases affecting survival such as cancer, severe malnutrition, etc; ? Symptoms like pain or nocturia as a single contributing factor to insomnia; ? Presence of obstructive sleep apnea, restless legs syndrome, or other sleep disorder; ? Alcohol abuse or drug dependence; ? Undergoing acupuncture treatment for insomnia within the past 6 months or being unable to tolerate acupuncture treatment; ? Participating in other clinical trials within the last 3 months.
