postoperative water fasting group (group C) :children in group C were forbidden to drink and fast after surgery.
early postoperative oral carbohydrate group (groupE):After extubation, children in group E were given an OAA/S score of level 5 immediately and given carbohydrates (2ml/kg-1) to drink within 10 minute

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 278 preschool-age children undergoing surgery under elective general anesthesia , ASA grade I to II, gender unlimited, age 2-12 years old, guardians volunteered to participate in the study and had signed written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria: 1) children undergoing emergency surgery; 2) Previous history of gastrointestinal surgery; 3) Children with gastric emptying disorders (such as gastroesophageal reflux, chronic aspiration history, delayed gastric emptying), digestive tract obstruction, and inability to use enteral preparations; 4) History of obesity and diabetes; 5) History of asthma and allergies; 6) Other chronic diseases, systemic diseases or recent history of acute infection.
