Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) In accordance with the diagnostic criteria for knee osteoarthritis outlined in the Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Osteoarthritis (2018 edition) (2) The age spanned from 50 to 75 years (3) Unilateral knee pathology accompanied by pain rated =4 points on the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) (4) After conducting pre-treatment, an imaging examination was performed on the affected knee joint. The X-ray revealed a K-L grade of I-III and mild to moderate narrowing of the joint space, indicating an early to middle stage. (5) The patient did not receive any acupuncture, intra-articular injection drugs, oral analgesics, or other treatments within the past month. (6) The treatment related to this study was willingly accepted by all patients, who also signed the informed consent form voluntarily.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) Did not meet the above diagnostic criteria for KOA (2) A Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) score exceeding 17 indicates depression in patients. (3) BMI =28kg/m2 (4) Contraindications of electroacupuncture (pacemaker, pregnant women, epilepsy, patients with skin diseases, metal allergy, needle phobia) (5) The patient presented with comorbid autoimmune diseases and coagulation disorders (6) Recurrent knee pain (due to gout, synovitis) resulting from prior knee surgery or concurrent comorbidities (7) Patients with previous Parkinson's disease, cerebral palsy, stroke, etc., which affected systemic muscle tone (8) People who are taking medications that may affect muscle tone (phenothiazines; butyrylbenzenes) (9) Soft tissue ulcers, damage, scars and other skin diseases were measured (10) Patients allergic to anesthetic drugs (lidocaine) (11) Special population: pregnant and lactating women, patients with mental disorders, cognitive impairment, and Alzheimer's disease
