intervention group:The eight auricular acupoints chosen are as follows: mouth, eye, liver, spleen, kidney, stomach, endocrine, epinephros. Experts from the department of integrated traditional Chinese
control group:The trained research nurse A pasted the seeds on the sham acupoints and instructed the patient to press each acupoint with their fingertips for 1 minute and 4 times per day for 4 weeks.

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: age =18 years; having pSS according to the American College of Rheumatology/European League Against Rheumatism classification criteria for primary Sjögren’s syndrome; oral dryness and eye dryness worse than 5 cmof 10 cm on a visual analogue scale; receiving a stable dose of corticosteroids, nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs, DMARDs, pilocarpine, and antidepressants for 4 weeks prior to and throughout the study; no history of ear surgery in the last 6 months and no infection, injury or ulceration around the acupoints; living in Chengdu; provide the written informed consent
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: secondary SS; pregnancy; allergy to seeds of semen vaccaria or adhesive tape; pesence of severe cognitive dysfunction; presence of other diseases causing dry mouth and dry eyes: a history of head, neck and facial radiotherapy, hepatitis C virus infection, HIV infection, lymphoma, sarcoidosis, and graft-versus-host disease; use anti-acetylcholine drugs(e. g. atropine, alkali, bromopropyine, belladonna, etc.)
