Interventions

Experimental group:Early tracheostomy is performed within 2 days of surgery
Control group:Standard tracheostomy is performed 2 days postoperatively

18 Years to 70 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion Criteria 1. Informed consent by the patient and/or legal proxy 2. Age 18 years or older 3. Patients underwent infratentorial lesions within 48 hours post-surgery 4. VENTIL Score =6 points

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion Criteria 1) Neurofibromatosis NF2 2) Severe brain hemorrhage 3) Pre-operative severe pneumonia 4) Premorbid modified Rankin Scale (mRS) >1 5) Pregnancy 6) Expected need for a permanent surgical tracheostomy 7) Participation in any other interventional trial 8) Life expectancy or consideration of transition to comfort measure only within half a year
