Interventions

Experimental group:In the experimental group (prophylactic mesh group), a non-absorbable 15*20cm artificial mesh was placed by laparoscopic sugarbaker method during MILES operation for rectal cancer.
Control group:No prophylactic mesh was placed in the control group

18 Years to 99 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Older than 18 years old 2. Patients who underwent laparoscopic MILES surgery for rectal cancer due to malignancy 3. No history of intestinal surgery 4. Sign the informed consent form in person

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients who are intolerant to mesh or allergic to mesh 2. Emergency surgery or non-laparoscopic approach 3. Patients with previous abdominal wall hernia or mesh placement at the surgical site 4. Life expectancy less than one year
