Intervention group:Bilateral paravertebral block at T8 level was performed before operation.
Control group:No intervention was performed before operation.

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) Age =18 years old; (2) Patients underwent open pancreatic surger; (3) PCIA was planned for postoperative analgesia; (4) American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) grade ?-?; (5) Patients voluntarily participated in the trial and signed the informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) A history of chronic pain or opioid abuse; (2) Previous neuromuscular disease; (3) Patients with cognitive impairment or inability to cooperate; (4) Contraindications of paravertebral block (including those with severe spinal deformity at the puncture segment or previous operations, infection at the puncture site, severe coagulopathy, and allergy to local anesthetics); (5) Body mass index (BMI)= 30 kg/m2; (6)Patients underwent palliative surgery, emergency surgery or reoperation; (7) Had contraindications to NSAIDs.
