Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: a) schedual for elective laparoscopic nephrectomy, adrenalectomy, and nephro-ureterectomy; b) with informed consent about regional anesthesia and patient-controlled intravenous analgesia; c) with American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA) physical status classification of 1 to 3; d) aged 18 to 75 years.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a) spinal deformity; b) pre-existing skin infection at puncture position; c) hypersensitivity to the local anesthetics; d) pleural adhesions; e) chornic analgesics use more than 3 months; f) serious hepatic (Child-Pugh class C) and renal dysfunction (undergoing dialysis); g) non-cooperative.
