Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: a. elective open upper abdominal surgery under general anesthesia ; b. = 50 years old ; c. predicted surgery time = 3h ; d. ASA I-III ; e. sign the informed consent of the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a. body mass index ( BMI ) = 30kg / m2 ; b. Including the following systemic complications : severe kidney disease ( glomerular filtration rate < 50 ml / min ) ; severe liver disease ( Child-Pugh grade B or C ) ; history of myocardial infarction, heart failure or respiratory failure ; obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome ; neuromuscular diseases ; c. the history of spontaneous pneumothorax or respiratory tract infection within one month ; d. contraindications of epidural anesthesia ; e. cannot understand speech instructions and cooperate with breathing exercises ; f. pregnancy ; g. cannot or refuse to provide informed consent.
