Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Study Group: 1. Age between 18-70 years old, any gender; 2. Meets Rome III diagnostic criteria, diarrhea-predominant IBS subtype based on IBS classification; 3. Agrees to participate in this study and signs the informed consent form. Control Group: 1. Patients with tiny polyps (<0.5cm) found in the distal colon during colonoscopy 2. Gender and age match the study group 3. Agrees to participate in this study and signs the informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Study Group: 1. History of digestive tract tumors, colonic adenomatous polyps, juvenile polyps; has alarm symptoms of tumors; 2. Concurrent existence of severe diseases of the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, blood, endocrine system or connective tissue diseases/rheumatoid diseases, or peripheral or autonomic nerve diseases; 3. History of drug abuse or medication overuse; 4. Has taken prokinetic drugs, probiotics, PPIs, or antibiotics within the past week, 2 weeks, and 1 month respectively; 5. History of anorectal or colonic surgery or other pelvic/abdominal surgeries; has clear pelvic floor dysfunction (such as urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse). Control Group: 1. Patients with huge polyps (>0.5cm) in distal colon found during colonoscopy, or organic digestive tract lesions found during colonoscopy; 2. Has digestive tract tumors, colonic adenomatous polyps, juvenile polyps; has alarm symptoms of tumors; 3. Has severe diseases of the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, blood, endocrine system or connective tissue diseases/rheumatoid diseases, or peripheral or autonomic nerve diseases; 4. History of drug abuse or medication overuse; 5. Has taken prokinetic drugs, probiotics, PPIs, or antibiotics within the past week, 2 weeks, and 1 month respectively; 6. History of anorectal or colonic surgery or other pelvic/abdominal surgeries; has clear pelvic floor dysfunction (such as urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse).
