18 Years to 35 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: i) patients aged 18 to 35 years, ii) meeting diagnostic criteria for depressive episode (HAMD=17), iii) patients with cyclothymic instability or subthreshold mania, or patients with a family history of BD in a first-degree relative.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: i) Diagnosis of bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or schizoaffective disorder, ii) diagnosis of anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, or substance dependence disorder that explains all psychiatric symptoms, iii) Severe medical illness or medical illness in the acute phase, iv) High risk of suicide.
