Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: We consecutively approached and enrolled ambulatory or hospitalized individuals with signs or symptoms of TB.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1: Those diagnosed by the research physician with other diseases (including NTM infection) or who were completely excluded from having TB were excluded 2: those younger than 5 years or older than 80 years at the time of the study were excluded 3: those with confusion or serious illness who were unable to cooperate with the researcher 4: those who had completed TB diagnosis or were receiving anti-TB treatment at the time of the study were excluded 5: those without clear reason and no sputum microbiological examination were excluded 6: those who did not sign written/oral informed consent were excluded.
