Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients who would undergo elective esophagectomy for esophageal cancer.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (i) diagnosed with mental illness; (ii) there is a communication barrier that prevents patients from understanding the case report form.
