Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: A 18-70 years old. B Patients who visited our department from 2013 to 2022. C Presence of periapical inflammation in the teeth adjacent to the implant site before implant surgery ,and D Available pre-operative, post-operative CBCT, 6-month post-operative imaging(Patients who received CBCT or periapical radiographs could be included for analyzing risk factors for RPI, while only those received CBCT could be included for analyzing the risk factor for AP extent), complete data and photographs, as well as long-term follow-up x-rays and intra-oral data. E Good oral hygiene, no uncontrollable periodontitis

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: A Incomplete imaging and clinical data. B Hematopoietic system, digestive system or autoimmune system diseases. C During pregnancy or lactation. D History of head and neck radiation therapy within 5 years. E AP of adjacent teeth were treated within 6 months after the implant surgery. F Diagnosis of AP in the adjacent teeth after the implant surgery. G Inability to routinely follow-up.
