18 Years to 75 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. ASA classification of I to III; 2. Aged 18-75 years; 3. Patients undergoing elective mediastinal and pulmonary surgery for one-lung ventilation; 4. Intubated with a greater than 32Fr left-sided double-lumen endotracheal tube.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Preoperative presence of airway abnormalities in anticipation of difficult intubation or mask ventilation; 2. Preoperative presence of sore throat, hoarseness or airway injury; 3. Upper respiratory tract infection; 4. Cervical spondylosis; 5. History of tracheostomy; 6. A Mallampati score of 4; 7. Morbid obesity (BMI >=35 kg m-1); 8. Obstructive sleep apnoea; 9. Cognitive dysfunction.
