Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ? Patients undergoing major non-cardiac surgery under general anesthesia; ? Aged >=18 years; ? American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I to III; ? Can participate in neuropsychological assessments and receive subsequent follow-up.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: ? A history of psychiatric disorders including bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, as well as neurological conditions such as Parkinson's disease and stroke; ? Illiteracy, dementia, and language impairments; ? Intracranial surgery; ? Inability to comprehend interview and scale materials.
