Sore Throat after thyroidectomy

Interventions

Preoperative intravenous dexamethasone group:Patients receive dexamethasone 5 mg intravenously 30 minutes before thyroidectomy.

Budesonide inhalation combined with intravenous dexamethasone group:Inhalation of budesonide aerosol, budesonide suspension (Pulmicort, manufactured by AstraZeneca, Wilmington, DE, USA) at a size of 0

18 Years to 70 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients undergoing thyroidectomy under general anesthesia; between the ages of 18-70 years; and classified as Class I-II according to the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with preoperative sore throat; preoperative hoarseness or cough; pregnant patients; corticosteroid medications prior to admission; and multiple general anesthesia intubations.
