Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: The inclusion criteria were as follows: (1) met the clinical diagnostic criteria in accordance with recommendations from the Third International Consensus Definitions for Septic Shock (Singer et al., 2016); (2) age of 18 to 79 years; (3) persisting hypotension requiring vasopressors to maintain a mean arterial pressure of 65 mm Hg or higher despite adequate volume resuscitation.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria were as follows: (1) hypersensitivity to SFI; (2) confirmed pregnancy; (3) with terminal illnesses; and (4) unable to understand the study protocol or unwilling to participate in the study after explanation.
